Muse at MSG - Friday, March 5, 2010

Capping off a long work week with an highly energetic concert at the
Garden. I've seen them live at least half a dozen times, and this was
unfortunately one of the weaker performances in a string of stellar ones.
Muse is known worldwide as being probably one of the best live bands around,
and I would agree with that statement. They performed for a good portion of
the concert on the elevated platforms that you see in the picture. The
platforms rotated... which is a good thing since the concert was sold out
including the seats that would be considered behind the stage. Sound at MSG
of course was awful as usual. Vocals were very muddy, but the music
compensated. It's too bad that they are so massive that they won't play
venues like the Bowery Ballroom or Webster Hall. I thoroughly enjoyed
seeing them at both of those venues circa 2004-2005.

Highlights of course were Plug-In Baby, New Born, Uprising, Starlight,
Feeling Good, Stockholm Syndrome and Knights of Cydonia.

It's a bummer that they didn't play Citizen Erased (Probably my favorite
Muse song) or Butterflies and Hurricanes.
