Bjork - Roseland, February 25, 2012

Bjork has set up residency in NYC for her Biophilia tour which will have additional stops later this year in Argentina and San Francisco.  We saw two shows.  Last night was the most special since we got to go on a tour of the stage.

First the show....  wow!

The new Biophilia app based album really shines in a live context.  Also Bjork playing a residency allowed fans to experience this in a more intimate setting than a stadium type show.  The musical instruments are customized and there is a lot of visual effects that complement the music.

We also got to hear some great non-Biophilia tracks:  Possibly Maybe!, Mouth's Cradle, Where is the Line?, Generous Palmstroke, Hidden Place and Declare Independence.

Max Weisel (20 year old wunderkind and biophila app developer) demonstrates the Reactable.

The Reactable controls the Tesla Coil.  Also check out the four fused iPads that control music.

The Gameleste is playing on its own.

A very memorable night.  Bjork's residency isn't only about the concerts.  It's also about teaching NYC area middle school aged children about music and science through workshops.  She will be continuing this on other Biophilia residency stops.  It' a good cause... and maybe a good reason to catch the act on another stop!
