What a great show. Jens never ceases to amaze me. His live show is just spectacular. Some artists never even get to the same level as their recorded work live. Jens simply exceeds it.
The new stuff was stellar. I really enjoyed An Argument with Myself with its twee danceable catchiness.
Jens also is very keen on providing the inspiration for his songs. The new song Waiting for Kirsten is about Jens and a friend essentially stalking Kirsten Dunst at a hotel in Gothenberg, Sweden (Jens' hometown). Chorus: "In Gothenberg we don't have VIP lines..."
Other highlights include an acoustic rendition of Black Cab, The End of the World is Bigger than Love (With it's political overtures and reference to the "Flatbush Avenue Target"), The Opposite of Hallelujah, Sipping on the Sweet Nectar.... and great encore Pocketful of Money (got the crowd singing along).
Now you see how one Swedish artist can sell out three nights in NYC.
