That Petrol Emotion - The Bell House - Sat, December 12, 2009

The music was a little dated (late 80s-early 90s), the crowd was a bit
sparse, the second openers had their amp catch fire and the first openers
were just plain awful (e.g. bassist stopped set to tell guitarist one minute
in that he was playing in the wrong chord).... All of that was fairly well
compensated in TPE's energy and Steve Mack's jumping around skills. You
could tell that they were just happy to be there.

They hadn't played a gig in the NYC area in over 15 years (full disclosure
- they were broken up for the majority of that time), they gave shout outs to
the crowd for "super fans" that travelled great distances to attend and they put
on a set heavy on old "hits".

Some standouts included: Hey Venus, Last of the True Believers, Blue to
Black, Sensitize
