Yesterday, I went to the matinee performance at the BAM of Merce Cunningham's choreographed "Nearly Ninety". Music was performed by Sonic Youth, Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones and Takehisa Kosugi. The musicians were in the back in a steel structure like thing that was rotated by people on the bottom.
The dancers took to the forefront of the stage. It must take a lot of stamina to be a professional dancer. Show was a unique modern dance performance. Enjoyed it a lot, and is a good example of the genre along with Steve Reich Evening (saw in the Next Wave Fest last year).
